It was off to Royal Deeside for the wedding of Katrina & Josh. Its not an area of Scotland I know all that well. The journey took me on new roads, and through really beautiful countryside. I arrived at Glen Tanar, the morning of Katrina & Josh’s wedding, greeted with an array of deer skulls that covered the ceiling at Glen Tanar Ballroom. I’d seen images of this when I had googled the venue, but it was quite something standing there, seeing it in person! I chatted to the lady that had been the house keeper there for years, who told me a bit about the history of the place, including some of the painted portraits of some of the previous owners. It was fascinating. The autumn sun shone with all its might and wonder, making the leaves burst with the brightest colours you could image. It was a completely beautiful autumn day.
I always like to find things that tell a bit of a couple’s story, and jumped at the chance to get some photos of Katrina’s anatomical skeleton (I’ve forgotten his given name now!) .. that she used when she was studying, it worked out perfectly in keeping as it was also near halloween!
I’ve been pushing myself to play and experiment more with my film camera, and I have to say, I am really really delighted with how all the film shots turned out, that I took on the day – have a look at the last section below for the images shot on my Nikon F80 (expired Kodak film stock).
