♥ part one ♥
Lucy had been keeping me in the loop in the weeks and days leading up to their Wedding, and I knew that there were going to be some lovely little homade made touches that would make this a really special day.
I don’t always get the time to include groom preparations. But, as it happened Dave was staying overnight in the village where I live, so it seemed like too good an opportunity to miss. So I called in on the boys for a quick photo shoot (see here) before heading off down to Edinburgh for the Bridal Preparations. I was greeted with sights and sounds of chatter, make up brushes, hair pins and hairspray – I also had the pleasure of meeting Sharon Webster and Monica George at ‘Made – up‘ – love seeing skilled people at work- they made it look so effortless! There were a few indications of what was to follow, with some of Dave’s printed cards, and special miniature whisky bottles with their Wedding designs on the label – Dave works in his family run Printing firm – so he had insider skills that were clearly put to good use!
When we arrived in the driveway, we were greeted firstly by the stunning spectacle of Dundas Castle itself. Which was quickly followed by the most friendly staff – who all there ready to help from word go, to keep things running smoothly – including a staff member offering to take my car round to the side car park – which was ever so helpful – meant that I could get on with the photography!
Going to somewhere like Dundas Castle is so so exciting – there is so much to see – I could easily have spent a day just wondering around immersed in all the details – the place is oozing with them – but there was a Wedding to be focusing on – I was glad to have had a few moments to get a few shots around the Castle.
As the day progressed, the cutest turquoise Campervan arrived, and out stepped the Groom & best men. Homade Wedding cake, with the cutest little personalised ceramic figures…ooh I could talk on and on – I’ll stop – you want to see pictures right? That is what you came here for!! 🙂 OK one last thing – don’t forget to check out Lucy’s home made mountain range cakes, complete with little payer flags and of course those wee figures modelled on Dave & Lucy themselves!
