Have you ever been to Kirknewton House Stables? Its a wonderful wedding venue on the outskirts of Edinburgh. I hadn’t been for a while, and I was really excited about having the chance to return for Rhona & Ryan’s wedding in the summer last year. I’m a huge fan of outdoor wedding ceremonies, and theirs was no acceptation ! Rhona and her bridesmaids walked up through the house, and into the grounds at the back of the house, to meet Ryan, underneath the Cherry trees (well, at least I think they are cherry trees!). Its really rather beautiful.
One of the highlights for me was seeing Ryan and the rest of his band (check them out – Mt. Doubt online ) play the most beautiful song – Ryan sang to Rhona after his speech .. It made a few people tear up in the room, myself included! Thats one of the things I love most about wedding. Two souls, so in love, being individual, doing things that are important to them as a couple, and seeing them share that with the important people in their lives.

I’ll start this blog post with some shots I’ve taken on my film camera (a Nikon F100 for those of you who are interested to know). Film, for me has a quality about it, that just can’t be achieved when you shoot with a digital camera. Its one of the many things I love about having the chance to shoot on film.
